I came to know about Tere (Mexican) in the UK (1997) . Both of us went to the Reading University for our postgraduate study at that time. Tere went back to home country for Christmas holiday and she sent me this beautiful postcard from Mexico on 20 December 1997. The postcard shows El Tajin. El Tajin is a Pre-Columbian archeological site near the Panpantla city. The construction of El Tajian began about the 1st century.
Masao sent me this postcard showing the night view of the Minami and Kita Bisan-Seto Bridge. Masao told me that the toll charge for one-way through the bridge was 6000 Yen (in 1997)! The postcard was sent on 18 June 1997.
This is one of the "old" postcards in my collection. Sometimes, it is warm to read the message on the postcard that was put down by the sender...... Kong is a Malaysian who graduated in 1995 and straight away stayed back in the US for work.... he lived in New York city....... At the same time, I just arrived at the UK for my postgraduate study....... Kong sent me (in the UK) this postcard from Long Island NY on 16 October 1995. Statue of Liberty is shown on the postcard..... it was a gift from the French to the Americans......
Ken went to Stonehenge for a visit on 4 May 1998, and he sent me this wonderful postcard of Stonehenge from there. Stonehenge was erected around 2200BC. It was listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1986.
Barbara lives in Quito, and she sent me this nice postcard from Quito, Ecuador on 3 June 2000. Quito is the capital city of Ecuador. The far background of the postcard shows Cotopaxi (with a altitude of 5937m), a stratovolcano in the Andes. What a beautiful view for the residents of Quito.

Leena sent me this postcard from Tampere on 8 June 1998. She has been married to the United States...... and no longer living in Tampere..... Tampere is located in between two lakes, Nasijarvi and Pyhajarvi. It is the second most important city after Helsinki in Finland.
Matthew went to Rotterdam for training in 1998, and he sent me this postcard from Rotterdam. The postal authority did not cancel the stamp/postcard therefore the date of posting is not known. Sitting at the river bank of Nieuwe Mass, Rotterdam is the second largest city in the Netherlands. It was the most busiest seaport in the world (until 2004; Shanghai has replaced Rotterdam to become the busiest seaport in the world).
